Alberto Moreno has had a turbulent few years at Liverpool.

Since arriving from Sevilla for £12 million in August 2014, the Spaniard has been heavily criticised by Liverpool fans for a lack of defensive quality.

Although effective in attack, Moreno has proved time and time again that he suffers from lapses of concentration in his own half.

Often found out of position and at fault for numerous opposition goals, the 25-year-old can be perceived as a liability on the left side of Liverpool's defence.

However, after James Milner occupied his position for the vast majority of the 2016/2017 season, Moreno has come back fighting this year; winning the starting berth after an impressive string of displays in pre-season.

Although he is not always producing the goods on the pitch, a video of a goal Moreno scored in Liverpool training has emerged showing his capability to conjure moments of brilliance.

In the clip, Moreno played a pass to Milner, before racing into the box.

The English midfielder spotted Moreno's run into the box and delivered a cross which was slightly behind the Spaniard.

However, the former Sevilla man adjusted brilliantly as he perfectly executed a stunning scorpion-kick which nestled in the bottom corner.

Moreno has had his critics in the past, so for many this goal in training came out of the blue.

But if he starts to produce moments of magic like this on match-days, the energetic but mistake-prone left back may eventually win over his doubters.
