A former WWE Universal Champion might have just confirmed Neville’s WWE departure.

That ex-champion is Kevin Owens, who is coming off a great Hell in a Cell match against Shane McMahon at Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena on the WWE Network. Owens ended up winning that match thanks to outside interference from Sami Zayn, who turned heel as a result of his actions.

There have been rumors going around on Tuesday that former Cruiserweight Champion Neville requested his release from WWE on Monday. As noted, Neville was initially scheduled to lose to Enzo Amore in the main event lumberjack match on Raw this week. However, plans changed to Kalisto defeating Amore for the title. This has been a big story over the last 24 hours, to say the least.

He signed with WWE in 2012 and was placed in WWE's developmental territory NXT. While in NXT, he is one of three men (the other two men being The Revival's Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) to win the NXT Tag Team Championship twice with his first reign being one-half of the inaugural champions with Oliver Grey and the other reign with Corey Graves.

He is also a one-time NXT Champion, thus making him the first (and only) man to have held both the NXT Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship. Fast forward to 2015, he was called up to the main roster was later drafted to Raw in the 2016 draft. He is a two-time Cruiserweight Champion.

F4Wonline.com has been able to confirm that Neville did walk out of Raw before the show began and that his future is up in the air. WWE has officially denied that he quit the promotion.

It should be noted that Neville did not appear on WWE 205 Live on Tuesday night and his profile remains on the WWE website as of this writing. For those who are wondering, Neville's last TV appearance came last Monday during the segment that saw WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle make the announcement that he had signed Kalisto to the cruiserweight Division. In regards to Neville’s last TV match, it came on the September 26th edition of WWE 205 Live with a win over Ariya Daivari. Also, he did not work any weekend live events, but cruiserweights rarely work the non-televised events besides an occasional singles title match.

Owens shared a simple yet very effective photo on his official Instagram account that has people talking due to the fact that it has no caption and could suggest that the rumors are true about Neville’s departure from WWE.
