One of the biggest stories of the recent summer transfer window was Barcelona's protracted and seemingly endless pursuit of Liverpool's Brazilian magician Philippe Coutinho. The Catalan giants made three separate bids for the number 10, the last of which amounted to a staggering £110 million. In the face of intense pressure, however, Liverpool held firm, rebuffing all of Barcelona's approaches and somehow managing to cling onto the services of Coutinho for a while longer. Worryingly though, that might not be as long as many at Anfield would have been hoping for with Barcelona claiming they are ready to come back in for the tricky Brazilian when the transfer window reopens in January.Coutinho undoubtedly had his head turned by Barca, even going as far as to hand in a transfer request to try and force through a move. While he seems to have got his head down and is back at his best for the Reds, the prospect of yet another offer from the Spanish giants will be concerning. It seems Coutinho is right at the top of the agenda after comments made by Barca chief executive Oscar Grau regarding the Liverpool talisman."We are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market, or any player the technical staff request," Grau said."But it is important to adjust ourselves, so if there are to be arrivals, there must be exits."With the Daily Mail claiming that a monumental bid of £120 million is in the works, Liverpool will have their work cut out yet again to hold onto the services of the midfield maestro.

Thus far, Coutinho has shown no signs that he has been affected by the situation, scoring in each of his last three games.

One would think though, that with the determination Barca are showing, it is only a matter of time before we see Coutinho performing keepy-ups in front of a fervent crowd at the Nou Camp.
