Harry Kane made amends for not scoring a goal for Tottenham during the month of August by entering God-mode during September. The 24-year-old striker scored six Premier League goals for Spurs last month, plus five more in the Champions League.Kane, who also scored the winning goals for England against Slovenia and Lithuania during the international break, has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September and will be hoping to add to his tally when Spurs take on Bournemouth at Wembley this weekend. But ahead of the Bournemouth match, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has responded to Pep Guardiola calling Tottenham ‘the Harry Kane team’ two weeks ago.Guardiola made the comment after being asked which teams he believes will challenge his club, Manchester City, for the Premier League title this season.

Pochettino's epic response to Guardiola

Although Pochettino would be the first to acknowledge Kane’s importance to Tottenham, the Argentine coach hasn’t reacted well to Guardiola suggesting the north London outfit are a one-man team.

“I know Pep,” Pochettino was quoted as saying by Goal, “When he's excited after an amazing win he struggles to keep his position and be a gentleman.”

Pochettino was, of course, referring to City’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on September 30.

“It was disrespectful for many,” he added.

“When he was at Barca I never said 'the Messi team’.”

Burn.

Pochettino's response is perfect

Pochettino has responded by mentioning the fact that Lionel Messi was Barcelona’s standout player during the unforgettable Guardiola era at the Camp Nou - but he never highlighted that to suggest the Catalan giants were a one-man team.

Although Messi was Guardiola’s key man, Barça wouldn’t have been anywhere near as successful without the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique, Dani Alves and Victor Valdes playing in the same team.

In many ways, this was the best response Pochettino could have given.
