Jerry Lawler has spoken about WWE putting The Shield back together.

By now, most people have seen this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Indianapolis, IN at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on the USA Network, The Shield reunited on the opening segment of the show.

Roman Reigns came out during the MizTV segment and said that his demise was greatly exaggerated and that he was giving them one warning to leave the ring. When Miz dared him to pander to the rumors about the Shield’s reunion, Reigns said “What rumors” as Dean AMbrose and Seth Rollins came out.

This led to the Shield attacking, Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus. WWE has added Braun Strowman to the main event of the upcoming TLC PPV. The main event will now see The Shield take on The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Strowman in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match (TLC).

On the latest edition of his podcast (Dinner With The King), the WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on the Shield reunion. Here is what he had to say (h/t Wrestling Inc):

“They all had success as singles wrestlers. Roman a little more than Seth, but than you look back at Seth with that injury that he suffered, Seth was really on a roll there for a while. And then Dean had a tremendous amount of success as a singles guy too. But I don’t think any of the three of them reached the height that they enjoyed while they were all together as The Shield.

I still feel like the company feels that Roman Reigns is the guy. Obviously, they are looking for someone that can pick up the ball without having to call back John Cena. I still feel like the company thinks that’s the guy, in Roman Reigns. I think, for the short term right now, it’s a great move putting these guys back together.”

The TLC pay-per-view event takes place on October 22nd at the Target Center in Minnesota, Minneapolis and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. This will be an exclusive RAW brand event.
