Saint George Groves is currently enjoying arguably his best year as a professional boxer in 2017, with a stunning sixth-round stoppage of Fedor Chudinov at Bramall Lane sealing his monumental first world title victory and an opportunity now to secure his legacy as the best Super Middleweight in the division with the 2017 Super Series tournament reaching the latter stages.

This Saturday, he faces Jamie Cox, who has already been dismissed by many and is considered the big underdog heading into the quarter-final matchup at Wembley Arena.

And it has been revealed George Groves handpicked to face the 31-year-old as part of his privileges as the No. 1 ranked seed in the tournament.

Even before the clash vs Cox, Groves is already looking ahead to who he can go after next and also admitted he demanded likely semi-final opponent Chris Eubank Jnr was in his half of the draw so there were more likely to face each other.

"Chris is also one of the four seeds but I did not want him going into the opposite half of the draw in case he got eliminated before I could get to him," Groves said, as per the Daily Mail.

Eubank Jr. has already booked his place in the semi-finals with an explosive knockout of Avni Yildirim, with Callum Smith pushing his own claim for success with an emphatic points decision win over Erik Skoglund in Liverpool.

Nevertheless, Groves has his sights firmly set on doing damage to Eubank Jr. should he prevail this weekend, for which he is a 1-8 huge favourite.

The 29-year-old added: "A fight between us is very big for the British public but there was a danger he wouldn't make the final.

"I knew he could beat Yildirim, who is so wide open to being hit, and since I picked Jamie then of course I'm confident of beating him."

Wembley Arena is currently the set venue for any semi-final clash, however, with the money-making potential of a Groves vs Eubank Jr duel, the fight would more than likely be altered to accommodate a larger audience at a larger football stadium, with Fulham's Craven Cottage and Chelsea's Stamford Bridge both being touted.

But if Jamie Cox can pull off an unexpected upset, all of this Groves-Eubank Jr showdown talk will prove hypothetical.
