Raheem Sterling has been a star reborn under Pep Guardiola this season.Signed from Liverpool for £50 million two years ago, the Manchester City winger has often struggled to live up to the hype. But now he's starting to. It's been a long time coming, but Sterling is recapturing the form that he showed at Liverpool to earn a move to City in the first place.Despite only starting five out of eight Premier League games this season, the 22-year-old has scored six goals and assisted a further two.His seven goals in all competitions actually make him City's joint-top goalscorer alongside Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus. And to think, there were rumours over the summer that Sterling was going to be included in a player-plus-cash deal for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez. The Mirror said Guardiola wanted to use Sterling as bait to sign the Chilean, although he refuted those claims last month."Raz is staying here," said City's manager. "The club trust him, that is why we have invested a lot of money in him, so the players we have are going to stay."If they want to leave they are going to leave, but he wants to stay. If players want to leave they have to ask the chairman, but there is no chance of that. He is going nowhere."Guardiola will reportedly try to sign Sanchez again in the winter transfer window, but his potential arrival won't impact Sterling it seems. So what does Sterling make of the rumours he was wanted by Arsenal? At the time, the Englishman reportedly had zero interest in moving to north London and wanted to stay.Sterling has now revealed exactly how he felt and it would appear said reports were true: he wasn't interested in Arsenal in the slightest.Speaking after the crushing 7-2 victory over Stoke City on Saturday, Sterling said he woke up one morning to reports of a move to Arsenal but completely ignored them.He said, per Goal: "I didn't need to speak to Pep about it [Arsenal interest]. I woke up one day and saw it. I didn't think about it for one minute."

That's what City fans like to hear. You can hardly blame Sterling for not being interested in Arsenal given the starts the two clubs have made.

Whereas City are cruising at the top of the Premier League and everyone's favourites for the title, Arsenal are struggling for form and most recently lost to Watford.
