Late goals from Chris Martin and Cody McDonald against Walsall helped Coca-Cola League One leaders Norwich move three points clear of faltering Leeds at the top of the table.

The Canaries were looking to make it seven league wins in a row but they were rocked when the hosts took the lead through Troy Deeney in the 35th minute.

However, Martin celebrated his new deal by equalising in the 77th minute and McDonald grabbed the winner five minutes from time.

There was more evidence Leeds' FA Cup run is hurting their promotion push as Simon Grayson's side crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Swindon. Charlie Austin opened the scoring in the 13th minute and a double from Billy Paynter (60, 63), the second from the penalty spot, boosted the Robins' promotion push.

Colchester stayed two points clear of Swindon after a 2-0 victory over 10-man MK Dons. Kevin Lisbie netted in the 18th minute but then missed a penalty just after half-time following an incident that saw Jude Stirling given his marching orders.

David Prutton made sure of the points in the 67th minute.

Millwall climbed into the play-off places thanks to 2-0 victory over Southend - Danny Schofield (45) and Shaun Batt (64) grabbing the goals.

Bottom side Stockport thought they had registered their first league win since October 12 when Danny Pilkington gave them a 58th-minute lead against Brighton. but Albion hit back for a 1-1 draw when Andrew Crofts netted in injury time.

Carlisle held off a spirited Exeter fightback to take a 3-2 victory from their long trip to the south coast, while Leon Legge's 83rd-minute header earned Brentford a 1-1 draw with Southampton at Griffin Park.

Tranmere boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win against Yeovil and Neil Austin's 79th-minute goal earned Hartlepool a 1-1 draw with Gillingham, who had taken the lead through Simeon Jackson (70).
