There is nothing more annoying in football than gifting points to your opponent. It makes coaches mad and completely swings the momentum of any game against you. It's even worse when you hand those points to the team you're playing against on a silver platter, exactly like the Carolina Panthers did today as they went down to the Bears in Chicago. There are turnovers, and then there is what the Panthers did in their terrible-yet-hilarious attempt at a triple option play during the first quarter of the game against the Bears. Curtis Samuel, hang your head in shame. With the Panthers driving down the field and looking to set the tone for the game, they decided to take it old-school with a little bit of option trickery. The only people that ended up tricked were their own fans, and just in the spirit of Halloween, the Bears got themselves a very nice treat. Scroll down after the jump to check out the fumble turned touchdown. It looked like a good play, and Samuel had daylight,  but the rookie just forgot to catch the football. We think that may have been the crucial element that was missing.

What happened after was just as good. With the ball sliding over a greasy surface at Soldier Field, the Panthers tried to jump on the pigskin but with no success - as it popped out of several players hands and right into the path of Eddie Jackson.

Jackson proceeded to take it to the house for one of the easiest scores he will ever have...well until later in the day when he grabbed an interception and scored six more. What a day for the former Alabama man.

The Panthers lost the game 17-3. This just set the tone for a horrible day.
