76ers (1-3) 97; Pistons (2-2) 86

It was a two-man show for the Sixers, as Ben Simmons (21/12/10) picked up his first NBA triple-double and Joel Embiid (30/9/0) dominated on the interior. The duo combined to shoot an amazing 19-of-26 from the field and 12-of-14 from the free throw line in the impressive road win. Andre Drummond (14/14/1) posted a double-double in the loss for Detroit. The Pistons were out-rebounded 49-to-39 and shot just 38.8 percent for the game.

Heat (2-1) 104; Hawks (1-3) 93

Playing without point guard Dennis Schroder, the Hawks relied on Kent Bazemore (20/4/4) and Taurean Prince (20/7/2) to carry the scoring load, but Atlanta ultimately couldn’t find ways to score down the stretch as the Heat pulled away. Miami played without center Hassan Whiteside, but Josh Richardson (21/4/2), Goran Dragic (19/1/6) and reserve Wayne Ellington (20/2/2) chipped in to carry the team.

Grizzlies (3-0) 98; Rockets (3-1) 90

Memphis stifled Houston in the fourth quarter, outscoring them by a surprising 28-to-14 mark. Marc Gasol (26/5/2) was dominant for the Grizzlies and continued his hot start to the season, knocking down all 10 of his free throws while shooting 8-of-15 from the floor. James Harden (22/5/8) and Eric Gordon (27/4/7) filled the stat sheet for Houston, but both shot 8-of-20 from the field. No other Rocket took double-digit shot attempts in the contest and the team went just 9-for-38 from three.

Bucks (3-1) 103; Hornets (1-2) 94

Giannis Antetokounmpo (32/14/6) continued his red-hot start to the year, shooting 13-of-21 from the field to will his team to victory. Frank Kaminsky (18/5/2) led the Hornets in scoring, but Charlotte had a terrible shooting night, registering a 26.9 percent mark from three while shooting an embarrassing 21-of-36 from the free throw line. Dwight Howard (8/22/1) dominated the glass, but went 0-of-9 from the charity stripe in the loss.

Warriors (2-2) 133; Mavericks (0-4) 103

After dropping two of their first three games, the Warriors got back on track behind vintage performances from Steph Curry (29/2/8), Kevin Durant (25/8/6), Klay Thompson (21/4/3) and Draymond Green (10/7/8). Leading 40-to-24 after the first quarter, the Warriors let the Mavs back into it by halftime, but outscored Dallas 68-to-41 in the second half for the blowout win. Seven Dallas players scored in double-figures in the contest, but the Mavericks remained winless.

Spurs (3-0) 101; Raptors (2-1) 97

Despite a valiant effort by DeMar DeRozan (28/4/3), the Spurs held on for a tight win in front of their home crowd. LaMarcus Aldridge (20/8/3) led the way yet again as both Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker sat out due to injuries. Dejounte Murray (16/14/6) shockingly dominated in the rebounding column in what was a stat-stuffing performance for San Antonio. Most of all, the Spurs took advantage of the fact that the Raptors were playing without physical center Jonas Valanciunas, who was dealing with a sprained ankle. They out-rebounded Toronto by a wide margin of 55-to-34.

Wizards (3-0) 109; Nuggets (1-2) 104

Led by John Wall (19/1/12), Bradley Beal (20/5/2) and Otto Porter Jr. (17/10/3), Washington remained undefeated in what was a close battle throughout. The Wizards went 26-for-28 from the free throw line, which came in handy. Nikola Jokic (29/9/5) came back to life after two dud performances to start the season for the Nuggets, but fellow starters Wilson Chandler (7/2/4), Jamal Murray (8/3/6) and Gary Harris (2/5/6) combined for just 17 points over 95 combined minutes. Denver turned the ball over 24 times compared to 15 by the Wizards.

Suns (1-3) 117; Kings (1-3) 115

Devin Booker (22/3/5) hit a pair of free throws with 9.8 seconds left to put the Suns ahead which led to their first win of the year. Playing extended minutes over new interim head coach Jay Triano, point guard Mike James (18/2/7) and Marquese Chriss (19/6/1) combined to shoot 16-for-23 from the floor in very efficient minutes. Garrett Temple (23/2/1) and rookie De’Aaron Fox (19/5/4) led the Kings in scoring off the bench. Phoenix shot 54.5 percent from the field while Sacramento shot 43.4 percent.
