West Brom have concerns over Graham Dorrans and Roman Bednar ahead of the visit of Sheffield United.

Scotland international Dorrans, who has been Albion's star performer this season, sustained a hip problem during Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Ipswich and Roberto Di Matteo is anxiously waiting the results of a scan.

Striker Bednar also suffered a bruised foot and both players will be assessed on Friday before a decision is made as to their availability.

Chris Brunt's superb individual display at Portman Road was dampened somewhat by a head wound that required a single stitch, but he is fine to feature against Kevin Blackwell's side.

Defender Abdoulaye Meite has returned from the African Nations Cup after Ivory Coast were eliminated but whether he is included in Di Matteo's matchday 18 remains to be seen. January signing Marcus Haber is also eligible to make his debut after receiving international clearance.

Midfielder James Morrison (heel) remains the only player definitely out.

Sheffield United winger Mark Yeates could make his full debut but Andy Taylor and Marcel Seip remain sidelined.

Yeates, a recent permanent signing from Middlesbrough, stepped off the substitutes' bench for the last five minutes in the midweek win over Reading and is in contention to start.

But manager Kevin Blackwell is still short on central defenders following Matt Kilgallon's departure and injuries to Taylor (groin) and Seip (hamstring).

Kyle Walker gives Blackwell an option at centre-half as he can switch from the flank but Jonathan Fortune is expected to continue alongside skipper Chris Morgan at the heart of defence.

Lee Williamson (hamstring) is doubtful while strikers Henri Camara and Darius Henderson are hoping to win back their starting places.

The Blades have won their last three league and have lost only one of their last 11.
