WWE should be expecting to see Kurt Angle wrestle again.
Ever since it was announced that the former WWE Champion would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, fans started speculating that he would wrestle again in the biggest sports entertainment company in the world.
WWE announced on last Friday that due to medical concerns Roman Reigns had been removed from the scheduled 3-on-5 TLC match between The Shield and the team of The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, and Kane at the TLC PPV (pay-per-view) event at the Target Center in Minnesota, Minneapolis on the WWE Network.
Reigns was replaced by WWE Hall of Famer and Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.
Angle made his first appearance at a professional wrestling event in 1996 with his in-ring debut following in 1998. He signed a contract with the WWE that same year and participated in his first televised storyline in March 1999.
Angle was a six-time world champion (four reigns as WWF/WWE Champion, one as WCW Champion and one as WWE's World Heavyweight Champion), a one-time United States Champion, one-time Intercontinental Champion, one-time European Champion, one-time Hardcore Champion and one-time WWE Tag Team Champion. He left WWE in 2006 but returned earlier this year to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Angle was already planned for a big program at WrestleMania before being penciled in for the spot at TLC. There were rumors that Angle may wrestle at Survivor Series pay-per-view event, which takes place on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center and will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. However, it doesn’t appear that will happen.
Instead, his next match will take place at WrestleMania 34. A list of opponents is quite long as some have speculated that he could face Triple H, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and The Undertaker. Time will tell will the sports entertainment company decides to do.
WrestleMania 34 is set to be held on April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network and is the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history. Both Raw and SmackDown rosters will be featured on the card.
