Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United side pipped Liverpool to the title in 2009 thanks to a remarkably strong finish.

On April 25th, it looked like the Red Devils were about to hand their Merseyside rivals the initiative after they found themselves 2-0 down at home to Spurs at half-time.

A brace a piece from Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, plus a goal from Dimitar Berbatov, secured a sensational 5-2 comeback win.

The two sides - currently separated only by goal difference - clash on Saturday lunchtime with both Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino hoping to keep the pressure on Pep Guardiola's in-form Manchester City.

Sidelined with a hamstring injury, Harry Kane will certainly be a big miss in the Tottenham XI.

We've looked at where that Manchester United XI from 2009 find themselves today.

It's worth noting that not a single member of Tottenham's matchday squad remains at the club.

Tottenham's longest serving player is Danny Rose, who marked his 2010 Premier League debut with an unforgettable wondergoal against Arsenal.

GK - Edwin van der Sar

The legendary Dutch goalkeeper was 39 at the time and retired a Manchester United great in 2011 at the ripe old age of 40.

RB - Rafael da Silva

Signed as a teenager from Brazil, Rafael fared better than his brother Fabio in Manchester but fell out of favour with Louis van Gaal and was sold to Lyon in the summer of 2015.

CB - Rio Ferdinand & Nemanja Vidic

They've both hung up their boots but are still considered by many to be the finest defensive partnership in the history of the Premier League. Vidic retired in 2016 following an unsuccessful spent at Inter Milan whilst Ferdinand recently launched a career in boxing.

LB - Patrice Evra

The eccentric Frenchman was adored by the Old Trafford faithful during his eight-year stay and, aged 36, is winding down his career at Marseille following a spell at Juventus.

RM - Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese superstar left for Real Madrid that summer and has since proven himself as one of the finest players in the history of the game. Ronaldo, 32, is expected to tie Leo Messi by winning his fifth Ballon d'Or award later this year.

CM - Michael Carrick

Aged 36, Carrick is the only member of United's 18-man squad that is still on the books at Old Trafford. He was named club captain over the summer but is yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this season.

CM - Darren Fletcher

The Scottish midfielder joined the Reds at the age of 11 and left in 2015 after struggling with health problems. He enjoyed a successful spell at West Brom before moving to Stoke this summer.

LM - Nani

Once billed as the 'next Ronaldo', the Portuguese winger failed to live up to the hype during his eight-year spell at United. He was eventually sold to Fenerbahce in 2015 and now finds himself on loan at Lazio in Serie A.

ST - Dimitar Berbatov

Berbatov, who impressed at Spurs before joining United, left the Reds for Fulham in 2012 and has since graced European clubs Monaco and PAOK. The 36-year-old Bulgarian recently signed a deal with Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters.

ST - Wayne Rooney

The 32-year-old Englishman became Manchester United's all-time record goalscorer last season and re-joined his boyhood club, Everton, on a free transfer over the summer. He retired from international football to focus on helping his new team fight on all fronts.

Substitues - Ben Foster, John O'Shea, Jonny Evans, Anderson, Paul Scholes, Carlos Tevez, Federico Macheda
