It wasn’t a great game but that won’t matter a jot to Jose Mourinho tonight. His Manchester United side recorded a massive 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford this afternoon thanks to an 81st-minute winner from substitute Anthony Martial.Spurs, without the injured Harry Kane, were limited to only a couple of chances during the 90 minutes and United were, in Mourinho’s opinion, worthy winners.Martial, who come on for Marcus Rashford with 20 minutes remaining, capitalised on some poor defending by Spurs to secure all three points for the Red Devils.Romelu Lukaku’s clever flick-on found Martial, whose bobbled finish rolled past Hugo Lloris and into the back of the net.Immediately after referee Jon Moss blew the final whistle, the camera panned to Mourinho, whose reaction has gone down very well with United supporters on social media. The Portuguese coach looked towards the camera and produced a ‘shush’ gesture - a clear message to his critics - before shaking Mauricio Pochettino’s hand.
