The decline of Tiger Woods in recent years has been sad to see.

Considered to be one of the best players of all time, Woods claimed his first major title at the Masters in 1997, and then dominated the sport for the majority of the 2000's.

By 2008, Woods had already claimed 14 major titles, but he has failed to add to that tally due to numerous injury woes.

His battles against injury had got so severe, that he has only featured in three professional tournaments since September 2015.

And after persistent back problems forced Woods to withdraw from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January, many feared that they would never see the legendary American tee it up in a professional event ever again.

However, nine months after announcing he will take another hiatus from the game, Woods has confirmed he will make his return to Golf in November at the Hero World Challenge.

Woods stated on his official site: "I am excited to return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge.

"Albany is the perfect setting and it will be great to join this outstanding field. I want to thank Pawan Munjal and Hero MotoCorp for their continued support of this tournament and my foundation.

"I would also like to thank the fans for their unwavering support during my injury."

Also teeing it up in the Bahamas will be a selection of the world's best players, with Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas just a few names competing in the star-studded event.

Even though there will be so much talent on show, all eyes will be on Woods, who will be looking to mark his return to Golf with a strong performance.

After going through injury hell in the past few years, let's just hope the American can stay injury-free and rediscover the form that saw him dominate the sport for over a decade.
