On Monday, WWE made some big announcements for their special edition of Monday Night RAW on January 22, 2018, celebrating 25 years since the first ever edition of the show.
Not only did they announce that on this night, RAW would be coming from two arenas, the Barclays Center and the Manhattan Center both in New York City, but they also revealed three legends that would be appearing on the special edition of the show.
WWE announced that Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and The Undertaker would be three of what is expected to be many WWE legends appearing on the 25th anniversary of RAW on January 22 next year.
The biggest return out of the three has to be The Deadman, as this would be the first time he has appeared on WWE television since his loss against Roman Reigns in WrestleMania 34's main event, a match where he appeared to retire afterward by placing his iconic hat, coat, and gloves in the middle of the ring before exiting back up the ramp.
Alongside The Undertaker, Michaels, and Nash, three more WWE legends have been rumored to appear on the show, all who which are WWE Hall of Famers.
According to PWInsider, local advertising promoting the 25th Anniversary of RAW at the Barclays Center featured clips of Bret Hart, Ric Flair, and Mick Foley while also saying that these WWE Hall of Famers would be appearing at the show.
We can't confirm this until WWE does, but it's certainly exciting to hear that more big names could be appearing on the 25th Anniversary of RAW on January 22 in 2018.
When the first episode of RAW aired back in 1993, Hart was WWF Champion at the time, so he played a key part in the show's early success. The Hitman hasn't appeared in WWE since he was in Natalya's corner at Payback in 2016 for her match against Charlotte Flair, who had her father Ric Flair in her corner.
Speaking of Flair, who is also rumored to appear on the 25th Anniversary of RAW, he headlined the second and third episodes of RAW, which included a 'Loser Leaves the WWF' match against Mr. Perfect, which he lost. He wouldn't appear on RAW again until November 2001.
The Nature Boy was last seen in WWE at ringside for the WWE Championship match between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton at Money in the Bank earlier this year, but fans will be excited to see him at this event as it will be one of his first WWE appearances since his recent health scare.
Foley had many major moments over RAW's history including the "This is Your Life" with The Rock and capturing his first WWF championship on a taped RAW against The Rock, the result which was revealed by WCW Monday Nitro (which was airing live) causing a huge surge in the ratings as fans wanted to see Foley win the title.
Foley hasn't been seen since he was fired from being RAW's general manager by Stephanie McMahon in March earlier this year. He recently underwent successful knee surgery, so WWE fans will be glad they get to see him again soon if the rumors are true.
