Back on Sunday, WWE announced they had decided to part ways with three of their superstars; Emma, Summer Rae, and Darren Young.
WWE said in a statement on their website that they have 'come to terms' with the release of the three RAW superstars, wishing them the best in all of their future endeavors. This brings the number of superstars released on the year to 14 in total so far.
Emma's exit from the WWE came as the most shocking to fans as it was only over a week ago that she was booked in a match against the debuting Asuka at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. She was even on Monday Night RAW a week ago.
However, most can agree that the reason why WWE has decided to let these superstars go is down to injuries, which has plagued each of the superstars mentioned above in a different way.
Emma and Summer Rae have both commented for the first time since they were released by the WWE on Sunday.
Emma commented on her future, saying she is very excited for it and she's glad she has a very supportive group of friends and family.
She said: "I feel very fortunate to have the most amazing family, friends and fans in the world! I am excited for the future. The best is yet to come!"
Summer Rae first sent out a post on Instagram saying: "Not giving up on Summer just yet…" but she then followed it up with another post talking about how she now has a chance to make a fresh new start and there's plenty of time in 2017 to make an impact.
“Monday Monday Monday 💪🏼 Fresh new week. Fresh new start! And plenty of time left in 2017 to make an impact! Let’s get it! Oh & nothing like a training session with @curtiswilliams17 to take me back to my football days! 💦😰👊🏼 Miss you but don’t miss those sled pulls!! 🎥 @shready_ #fitness #motivationmonday”
It's difficult to say if all three will continue wrestling now they have left the WWE. Emma and Young are both talented in the ring and could continue on the independent circuit if the opportunities are there, while Rae might decide to go more down the modeling route, as evident by some of her more recent Instagram posts.
