A potentially massive fight in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) could be in the works after some personal issues have begun to brew between two of the sport's biggest stars.

Nick Diaz and Rampage Jackson have developed quite the beef with one another in the past few weeks. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jackson took to social media a few weeks ago to post a video of Diaz attempting to steal his date from him right in front of him.

In the video Jackson kept telling Diaz things around the lines of "that's not cool." Diaz, who was clearly intoxicated, was hearing none of Jackson's comments and proceeded to converse with the female.

Some believe that the whole video was staged and the pair were simply having fun with one another, as it's known that Jackson once did the same thing to Diaz before several years back. It seems that a rivalry between Diaz and Jackson is very real, however, and Jackson wants to settle things inside the cage.

Rampage recently did an interview with TMZ to discuss the matter and claimed that he wants to fight the Stockton native at heavyweight to settle the score (quotes via MMA Mania):

“Nick Diaz needs to step up to my weight class. That’s all I got to say. Back when MMA first started, there were no weight classes. Nick Diaz, he a warrior just like me.

"That’s all I got to say, he has to step up to my weight class. He disrespected me in Vegas. We both was drinking, which was good, you in Vegas, you having fun.

"Nick Diaz, you know you disrespected me and you was out of order motherfucker. He tried to punk me man, It ain’t cool. Come to my weight class.”

Diaz hasn't competed inside the Octagon since January of 2015 when he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Anderson Silva. The loss was later overturned to a No Contest after both men tested for banned substances.

Rampage has remained active in Bellator MMA by competing in the heavyweight division, and has been rumored to be returning to the UFC for some time. Situationally, a fight between Jackson and Diaz is very possible.

What are your thoughts on Rampage wanting to face off against Diaz to settle their personal issues outside of the cage? Who do you think would emerge victorious in the potential match-up? And do you think that the UFC would make the fight happen? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
