Over the past few weeks, there has been a bit of beef developing between English pundit Gary Lineker and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema.
The BT Sport presenter tweeted his opinion of the French striker during Los Blancos' 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the Champions League a few weeks back, which started the whole ordeal.
Lineker stated that he believed Benzema was a tad overrated given the fact that his goal record is not as impressive as he thinks it should be in such a talented Real Madrid side.
The Spanish media criticised the former Tottenham striker and even manager Zinedine Zidane came out to defend his player.
ZIDANE ON LINEKER
"Not only is there criticism of Karim, but of everyone," Zidane said.
"I am annoyed because saying that is a shame.
"He [Benzema] isn't going to get you 60 goals but he will get 30 and he will also assist for 40 more and that for me is the most important thing.
"I don't like it when people speak badly of my players, and I want to clarify again that for me Karim is the best [striker] by far."
Benzema himself only recently came out to defend his honour, claiming that he 'feels sorry' for the Match of the Day host.
BENZEMA LASHES OUT
"What I have more of a problem accepting is the criticism of former players-turned-journalists, who -- some of them -- spread their hate," he said. "They have gone through the same difficulties, but they have no solidarity. I feel sorry for them, really."
But, it is now Lineker's turn to respond and he has made a very good point on Twitter, while also tagging Benzema in his post.
LINEKER'S LATEST TWEET
He's got a point hasn't he.
Clearly, Benzema is not very content with taking some criticism from a pundit, something which in reality, he really should.
Benzema will likely have a chance to prove Lineker wrong at Wembley tonight when he takes on Spurs.
A few goals and a big victory for Los Blancos would be the sweetest revenge for the former Lyon man.
