What Roy Keane said about Manchester City was just brilliant

No matter who you support, you can’t fail to be impressed to Manchester City right now.

They sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League after picking up 28 points from a possible 30 and have also qualified for the last-16 of the Champions League after winning all four of their group matches.

And their latest victory in Europe’s elite competition was by far the most impressive of their campaign so far.

Pep Guardiola’s side travelled to Naples to take on Napoli.

Napoli sit top of Serie A with a record equally as good as City’s, having won 10 and drawn one of their 11 matches.

But they were no match for City, who ran out 4-2 winners.

It was an incredible performance and had everyone talking about them being potential winners of this tournament.

Everyone but Roy Keane, that is.

Whilst appearing on the Champions League highlight show on ITV, the former Manchester United player had no interest in signing the praises of his former rivals.

“My only concern for City at the moment, I think it’s in their DNA, as a club, to mess things up,” Keane harshly said.

Twitter reacts

And this is how Twitter - mostly Man Utd fans - reacted to that rather brilliant quote from Keane:

But Keane continued and *almost* gave them a compliment.

“If you look at their squad, the players they have - obviously they’ll need a bit of luck with injuries etc - the coach, they’ll take some stopping.”

You could tell it hurt him by giving City a bit of praise.

But Keane knows as well as anyone that Guardiola’s squad are looking very, very good right now.
