Leicester City travelled to face Stoke City on Saturday afternoon as both clubs looked to break into the top 10 in the Premier League table.

Heading into the game at the bet365 Stadium, Leicester were 11th on 12 points and Stoke were three places below (14th) on 10.

It was the away side who took the lead in the 33rd minute. Riyad Mahrez's in-swinging corner was met by Harry Maguire, who knocked it down for Vicente Iborra to lash home.

And the Foxes should have made it 2-0 moments later when Kurt Zouma's mistake gave Mahrez space to run in behind Stoke's defence.

Mahrez had all the time in the world to pick out Jamie Vardy in the box, but he stalled and Zouma made an outstanding last-ditch challenge.

Shinji Okazaki was then denied by Jack Butland from close range before Iborra wasted a glorious chance by heading over the bar.

It was all Leicester, but in the 39th minute, Stoke equalised through Xherdan Shaqiri.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's delightful flick put the Swiss midfielder through one-on-one with Kasper Schmeichel and he made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

A high-scoring game was expected of Stoke and Leicester and that's exactly what fans got, but arguably the biggest talking point from the opening 45 minutes involved Bobby Madley.

Refereeing substitutions are very rare in the Premier League but in the 21st minute, Madley signalled to the sidelines that he needed to be replaced.

Jon Moss was on hand to take over and according to the commentators, Madley was forced to retire due to a calf injury no less.

Not something you see every day. Football fans found Madley getting injured pretty funny, as you can see in the Twitter reaction below.
