It's already being dubbed as one of the greatest UFC pay-per-views ever, as UFC 217 on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York saw the crowning of three new world champions.

In arguably the biggest shock of the night, Georges St-Pierre made his return to the Octagon after four years away and defeated Michael Bisping in the third round of their contest with a rear-naked choke technical submission to become the new UFC Middleweight Champion.

This win made the Canadian fourth person in UFC history to become a champion in multiple divisions alongside Randy Coutre, BJ Penn, and Conor McGregor.

Elsewhere, T.J. Dillashaw defeated Cody Garbrandt via knockout in the second round of their contest, winning the UFC Bantamweight Championship in the process, while Rose Namajunas won the UFC Women's Strawweight title against the previously undefeated fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk's with a first-round TKO.

After the event had taken place, Dana White was very happy with what UFC fans got to witness take place at Madison Square Garden, essentially describing the shocks he saw on the night as 'Holy s**t'.

He said: “There were a lot of holy s**t moments tonight. I called this the ‘holy s**t’ business, and tonight it delivered some holy s**t moments. It’s the beautiful thing about this sport, you never know how it’s going to go. No matter what an expert you are or you think you are, you can never predict what’s going to happen. I think that’s one of the things that makes this sport so exciting.”

The UFC president with also very happy with Rush's performance, praising how he was able to return to the Octagon after four years away and become the fourth person in UFC history to become a champion in multiple divisions.

“It’s a hard thing to do. Very few have done it. People think Bisping is an easy fight. Show me, show me where someone had an easy fight with Bisping. Michael Bisping is tough and he came to fight tonight. And Georges St-Pierre down the line.”
