Love him or hate him, boxing needs characters like Tyson Fury.

Fury has been an extraordinary boxer throughout his career, having won all 25 of his professional fights.

But after beating Wladimir Klitschko and conquering the heavyweight division in 2015, Fury has had to deal with a number of personal problems which have caused a two year hiatus from the sport.

Fury had previously announced that he was retiring from the sport, meaning there was a time where it looked as if we would never see the controversial Englishman back in the ring.

However, Fury recently revealed that he was targeting a comeback in April, and also announced his intentions to fight twice more in 2018 - in news that delighted the majority of boxing fans.

A FIGHT BETWEEN ANTHONY JOSHUA AND FURY IS A MAJOR POSSIBILITY

With Anthony Joshua currently blitzing all in his path in the heavyweight division, Fury has made it no secret that he wants a fight between the two to occur.

And, Joshua has also claimed that he was more than happy to meet his fellow countryman in the ring.

Speaking to Sky Sports last week, Joshua said: "Eddie [Hearn] is right, as a promoter it works well for him, it works well for me and I think it works well for people who want to watch me and Tyson Fury get it on."

"Eddie has been on the phone to Tyson, trying to make things happen and support his cause. This is a fight, down the line, that might happen."

FURY'S OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS ON WHAT HE WILL DO TO JOSHUA IF A FIGHT OCCURRED

With a fight now a real possibility in 2018, Fury has made some hilarious comments on what he will do to Joshua if they fought.

Speaking to  iFL TV, as per the Sun, Fury said: "I will jab his nut right off, he’ll look like the Elephant Man after I’ve finished jabbing him, I’ll hit him a thousand times with the jab.

"He’ll be thinking throw the right hand for God sake and I’ll just hit him with the left hook BANG and you’ll see him fall stumbling to the floor on all fours and he’ll be looking up thinking f****** hell I’ve gotta get up now.

"I won’t do what Klitschko done, I won’t jab and jab and tip tap him - take his lights right out - and that’s what to expect.

"Expect a Roy Jones Jr performance on a James Toney, and no disrespect to James Toney but he got f****** schooled against Jones Jr and I will school AJ.

"I’ll even put my hands behind my back, I’ll even do the fighting cock moves, all of them.

"I haven’t had no talks, I don’t know what’s going on at the moment, I will keep you updated."

What a character Fury is.
