It seems as though Paige is very close to making her highly-anticipated return to WWE action - and it couldn't have come at a better time.

Paige comes from a great wrestling family in the United Kingdom and got her start back in 2005 when she began working the European independent circuit. After working the circuit for six years Paige then began working with Shimmer Women Athletes in 2011. Just months later Paige signed with WWE and was sent to their developmental territory of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

She was a huge part of FCW's transition into NXT and became the first ever NXT Women's Champion by defeating Emma in a tournament to determine who would be the inaugural title holder. Paige then made one of the biggest debuts for a female in WWE history on an April edition of RAW back in 2014.

It was the night after WrestleMania and Paige defeated AJ Lee in an impromptu match-up to become the Divas Champion. After her win she held both the Divas and NXT Women's Titles simultaneously but was of course forced to vacate the NXT title soon after.

Paige was a brief part of the Women's Revolution and was joined on the main roster by top stars such as Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Bayley, and more. Unfortunately for Paige, however, she suffered a bad neck injury that forced her to be sidelined for quite some time.

Since she has been out she has faced a ton of negative coverage in the media which leaves many WWE fans to wonder how she'll be received upon her return to the ring. Well that return may happen a lot sooner than most fans initially expected.

It seems as though her return could come as soon as sometime this week. She recently took to Twitter to indicate that she is traveling again, however, it was not specified where she was going:

As we've previously reported, Alberto Del Rio recently commented that Paige is "days away" from returning to WWE; and PWInsider reported that she was not spotted alongside him at Bound For Glory this past weekend.

What are your thoughts on Paige returning to WWE soon and giving a boost to the promotion's women's division? How do you think the WWE Universe will welcome the former WWE Divas Champion? And do you think she has a spot amongst the top women on the roster today? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
