This past weekend during the WWE's tour of Europe UK fans made it known that they want to see a WrestleMania come to their neck of the woods - and it seems as though former Universal Champion Finn Balor agrees with them.
Balor comes off of an insane period of time in which he rivalry with Bray Wyatt was essentially scrapped due to a illness that plagued the WWE locker room. Initially Wyatt and Balor were supposed to have their meeting of their "Demon King" and "Sister Abigail" characters at Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC).
Unfortunately a case of the mumps broke out in the WWE locker room and Wyatt was one of the men affected by it. This forced Wyatt off of the TLC card and he was soon replaced by SmackDown Live star AJ Styles.
After putting on a Math Of The Year candidate against one another, which Balor won, it seems as though the ex-Universal Champ will now be involved in the RAW vs. SmackDown angle going down at Survivor Series this year.
Balor recently did an interview with Sky Sports during the WWE's UK tour and expressed his desire to see a PPV in the UK (quotes via IWNerd):
“I love the idea of doing international pay-per-views and I don’t see why we should be anchored, so to speak, to the United States. Obviously there are issues of time zones and logistics but that’s for someone else to figure out.
"The fans here deserve a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom. They haven’t had one since 1992 and that one went down as one of the greatest pay-per-views in WWE history
“Why it hasn’t been done since then is beyond me. People above me will make excuses about how it’s not financially beneficial to the company but I think there are more important things beyond the bottom line and that’s giving the fans what they want at any cost.
"We’ve been touring here since 1991 and the fans deserve a pay-per-view. The talent want it too. So it’s time they figured it out and brought a big pay-per-view here.”
