Josh Norman may have gotten away with one of the dirtiest plays of the 2017 National Football League (NFL) season.
Norman Coastal Carolina alumni who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 Draft with the 143rd overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. Norman signed a four year deal worth $2.3 million and a $299,000 signing bonus with the team and earned his way to a starting position.
It wasn't until 2014 where Norman's true potential busted out of him and he slowly evolved into a lockdown corner and one of the best in the league. In 2016 Norman had a tremendous season but was unable to come to a long term contract agreement with the Panthers.
As a result, he hit the free agency market and eventually decided to sign with the Washington Redskins on a five-year, $75 million deal. Norman had a great first year with the Redskins after finishing the year with 67 tackles, 19 passes defended, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions.
Norman is currently in his second year with the Redskins and has not only become known as one of the best cornerbacks in the league, but one of the most outspoken players in the league. Norman isn't afraid to talk a little trash on the field and has a very much publicized feud with New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The pair have engaged in physical brawls on the gridiron before, but it looks as though Norman has gone out and made a new enemy on the field - a much taller enemy.
In their recent game against the Seattle Seahawks, Norman picked up a horse collar tackle penalty for the Redskins after committing the penalty on tight end Jimmy Graham.
Soon after tackling Graham down, however, Norman seemed to sneak in a cheap shot on Graham by giving him a punch after he was down - and fans didn't like it. Here's the play:
One sports analyst voiced his opinion on the play and claimed that Norman should have been ejected. This sparked a response from the cornerback on Twitter:
