Why does nobody care about The Shield vs. The New Day?

The WWE seems to be laying out the groundwork for what could be the biggest Tag Team match of the year, and nobody seems to care about it.

For years now The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose) have been referred to as one of the greatest professional wrestling factions of all time. At one point each men held a title while in The Shield; Reigns and Rollins holding the Tag Team Titles while Ambrose had a run as United States Champion.

After splitting up, however, each man went on a singles run that saw them each capture a World Championship at least once. Rollins betrayed his Shield brethren in order to serve as the new chosen face of the company by The Authority.

Reigns and Ambrose instead battled against The Authority, before Triple H turned his back on Rollins - leading to a match between the pair at WrestleMania 33. Since then the trio have reunited and WWE fans are excited to see one of the most beloved factions of all time fighting side-by-side again.

Over on SmackDown Live another faction has been making quite a bit of noise - The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Big E). The three men have held both the RAW and SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships and are quickly shaping up to be one of the greatest teams of all time.

Both The Shield and New Day are currently without titles at the moment, meaning that there's an opportunity for them to meet up against one another at Survivor Series. This could be one of the biggest matches that WWE can put on and it seems as though nobody is talking about it.

WWE has laid out a few hints that the match will be taking place; given that The New Day invaded RAW and seemingly cost Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose their RAW Tag Team Titles to Sheamus and Cesaro, and Roman Reigns and Big E have been exchanging insults on Twitter.

These are two mega-fan-favorite trios and if they do in fact meet inside the squared circle it will be a monumental moment for WWE fans. Perhaps one reason the match is being overlooked is because of the matches that are already on the card.

WWE Champion AJ Styles and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar are set to do battle, in addition to every other champion on each brand's roster set to face off against one another, while Elimination Tag Team Matches between teams compiled of RAW and SmackDown's most talented men and women will also be taking place.

PWInsider has already confirmed that WWE is planning for The Shield vs. The New Day at Survivor Series, but details on the match and exactly who will be participating still remain scarce.
