We now might know the cause of Jon Jones’ latest failed drug test.

Although he has been stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title and removed from the official UFC rankings after his latest failed drug test, he is still in the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s (USADA) drug testing pool.

The former UFC champion failed an in-competition drug test at UFC 214. Due to that failed drug test, Jones has been provisionally suspended by USADA pending a full investigation by the CAC (California Athletic Commission).

Jones defeated his arch-rival Daniel Cormier by third-round TKO in the main event of UFC 214 on July 29 in Anaheim, California on PPV (pay-per-view) to regain the title. Jones tested positive for Turinabol.

In the past, UFC health and performance vice president Jeff Novitzky has gone on record by stating that Jones’ latest case is still being investigated.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan took this theory and stretched it to the absolute limit during a recent edition of his podcast. He essentially inferring that Jones used cocaine that was cut with Chinese creatine that was in turn laced with a USADA-prohibited substance.

“You want to know the craziest fucking rumor that I heard?” Rogan told former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub on the show. “I can’t tell you who told me this. This is the craziest one.”

“The stuff that [Jon Jones] tested positive for takes a long time to get out of your system, right? You know where else you find that stuff? You find it in creatine. When they get creatine, sometimes from China, it’s tainted with steroids. They use that creatine to cut cocaine.”

Despite his success in the sport, he has had a long string of incidents that not only cost him money but opportunities to build his legacy. Make no mistake about it, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, Jones was ranked number one in the world during his championship reign and currently has the longest active winning streak in the UFC.

Jones has been stripped of three different UFC belts (also a record) and failed multiple drug tests by USADA to go along with myriad legal troubles outside of the cage. Jones is facing a possible four-year suspension that even his own coaches say could end his career.

He’s a two-time light heavyweight champion and the youngest fighter to ever hoist UFC gold. His first run as a UFC champion featured eight title defenses, tied for third-most of all time.

“One of the things they cut some cocaine with is creatine, because it looks like cocaine. So if he was partying: ‘Jon, you want to do a bump, it’s really good stuff’… ‘Hey man, I can’t test positive for anything’… ‘It’s just coke bro, it’s not even cut!”

“He had a birthday about 10 days out from the fight,” Rogan concluding, dumping gasoline on the fire and thrusting this conspiracy into overdrive.
