One superstar is not happy to hear John Cena’s role at Survivor Series.

The big news on Wednesday morning came from SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon who announced via Twitter that the former WWE Champion would the fifth and final member of the men’s Team SmackDown against Team Raw at Survivor Series.

If you recall, there was some speculation that Cena would serve as the special guest referee for the upcoming match between Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and then-WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

Lesnar will now face newly crowned WWE Champion AJ Styles at the event. Rusev thought he was going to get a spot of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series. He took on Randy Orton on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Manchester, England at the Manchester Arena on the USA Network. If he won the match then he would’ve been added to the team. However, he lost the match. WWE wrote the following:

“Aiden English welcomed Rusev with a rousing rendition of the “Rusev Day” song as The Bulgarian Brute prepared to take on Randy Orton where a victory against The Viper would make The Super Athlete the fifth and final member of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Rusev did his best to keep bitter rival grounded and appeared to be on his way to joining Team Blue’s squad, but The Bulgarian Brute was soon met with an RKO outta nowhere that put him down for the count and kept him off Team SmackDown”

Rusev reacted to the news of Cena’s role on the team by writing the following on Twitter:

“Congrats to my friend John Cena who qualified for the survivor series fair and square...... go get them TIGER.”
