Argentina fans will be relieved at the fact they can relax during this international break after one of the most hectic two weeks in the nation's footballing history in October.

The South American country was on the verge of failing to qualify for the World Cup and needed a minor miracle during their final group game away in Ecuador.

Commeth the hour, commeth the man, Lionel Messi. The Barcelona superstar delivered when needed most, scoring a sensational hat trick to secure a priceless 3-1 win.

The scenes of celebration that night in Buenos Aires must've been special.

During this break, Jorge Sampaoli's squad will take part in two friendlies against World Cup hosts Russia and Nigeria.

Messi will be involved after being called up to the squad, along with fellow superstar strikers Paulo Dybala, Sergio Aguero and Mauro Icardi.

MESSI MAKES A GAFFE

However, it seems that the great Barcelona forward is not aware of certain Argentine forwards plying their trade across Europe.

While training in Russia, Messi was approached by Zenit Saint Petersburg striker, Sebastian Driussi approached the national hero for a photo and at first, he didn't recognise him.

However, after he realised his error, he sent a message to Driussi saying that he apologised for not recognising him, as per TYC Sports.

A touch of class from the great man.

Messi has been in a rather talkative mood during his time with the national team, revealing in an interview where he see's his career going in the future.

MESSI OPENS UP

"I still have to play in Newell's and that is my dream," Messi told Ole. "But, as I was saying recently, I do not know what will happen a few years from now or how I will be to come back.

"I would love it and I always said it but I hope I can continue at this level to get back to Newell's because it's what I dreamed since I was little."

However, a move back to his homeland will likely only take place for his final year of playing and for now, he has a lot of unfinished business to take care of with Barca.

Not to mention a few more records to break.
