The Attitude Era is widely considered by many to be the greatest time period in the history of professional wrestling.

During the era the WWE was unafraid to push the envelope, so to speak, on what they could do creatively. The TV-14 format gave WWE writers the ability to go a bit further with how intense their product could be, not to mention the fact that they were in the midst of a ratings war with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) at the time.

When wrestling featured two power house promotions in WWE and WCW, both companies would push each other to their limits, creating better content and entertainment for fans, as well as giving talents a new option on where to work if they weren't happy with their current environment.

Over in WCW you had creations such as the N.W.O, which featured stars such as Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash. Not to mention home-grown talent such as Sting, Goldberg, and many more.

WWE also had a huge class of stars at the time such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Mankind, and Edge just to name a few. It was a truly glorious time to be a professional wrestling fan, and those who lived through it will treasure those memories for the rest of their lives.

Today the product has watered down a tremendous amount, as the WWE has flipped over to a PG format now that they are the only hot promotion in the world after buying out WCW in the early 2000s.

The stars of the Attitude Era are mostly gone today, including WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin who is happily retired and runs two full-time podcasts.

Austin recently took to Instagram to post a picture of a tour bus in which he and several other big stars from the Attitude Era were hanging out and drinking beers. The photo features stars such as Shawn Michaels, Paul Bearer, Kevin Nash, The Undertaker, Scott Hall, X-Pac, Triple H, and of course Austin.
