Chelsea pulled off one of the top signings of the summer when they landed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

The London club paid £58 million to bring the striker in and he's already began repaying that money.

The Spaniard has eight goals from 12 starts in the Premier League and Champions League so far and is just one behind Sergio Aguero who's the top scorer in the league.

The goals he's scored have been important, with his latest coming against Manchester United last weekend when his brilliant header secured all three points against a huge rival.

Although he had a decent scoring record at former club Real Madrid, Morata never really broke into the Los Blancos starting 11 and found himself struggling for game time.

Even a good loan spell at Juventus between 2014 and 2016 where he netted 27 times for the Italian club couldn't help him get back into Madrid's team behind the likes of Karim Benzema.

Instead, the striker chose to move to England and has become an instant fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.

He's the main man at Chelsea - walking into the first team ahead of backup Michy Batshuayi who arrived at the club a year earlier.

While on international duty, Morata has been back in Spain and mentioned that he would one day like to return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

But not before he's achieved something big at Chelsea.

"Of course I'd go back," he told AS, per the Evening Standard. "Only after I have won everything with Chelsea and made my mark there."

Despite his clear admiration for Madrid, Morata also mentioned that he wouldn't mind facing his old club once again in the Champions League.

The 25-year-old scored against them twice while playing for Juventus as he reached the final in 2015 and was asked if he'd like the chance to meet them in the final this time around.

"Of course - and for us to win. I hope we manage to avoid each other but sure, I'd be up for meeting them in the final, without a doubt."
