One of the best welterweights in the world - Kell Brook - has once again failed to secure his long-desired fight with Amir Khan. For now.
Former world champion Khan has flown to Brisbane and is being rumoured to appear in the upcoming series of reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here".
Brook, who has a long-standing feud with Khan, has joked that his countryman has flown Down Under to take part in the show to avoid fighting him anytime soon.
"The Special One" Brook had issues with his eye socket, which was broken in his last two fights against Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr, but after undergoing surgery is now ready to return to the ring.
Khan, on the other hand, has not fought since his defeat to Canelo Alvarez in May 2016. He recently made it clear that he wants a fight with Brook at some point in the future.
But Brook sees Khan`s participation in the reality show as his latest excuse to delay their long-anticipated fight.
"I think he's travelled over to the other end of the world to get away from me," Brook joked in an interview with Sky Sports.
"The next thing he will be saying is, if Kell comes to the jungle and lasts longer than he does, he will fight me then!"
"He's always finding some kind of excuse and now he's travelled to the other side of the world to get away from me."
"It is a programme that I do enjoy watching. I am looking forward to seeing him on the show."
"I will be voting for him to eat some kangaroo testicles, or something like that. I will make sure that he has to do something for avoiding the fight with me."
Brook sounds enthusiastic about the show, but more than that, he would like to face Khan sooner rather than later. And when it happens, he sees only one possible outcome.
"Let's see what his personality is like. I am looking forward to seeing what he is about, if I am honest with you, but if he gets in there with me, there is only one winner, and that is me.
"I do have some phobias. I am scared of all the spiders and creepy crawlies. I think they would be voting me in non-stop, because I don't like those animals."
"I still want to come back, I still want to be world champion, I still want to have big fights, so I want to deal with that first and then when things really slow down with the boxing, you could see me in the jungle, you never know."
