Possible explanation for Paige's absence on WWE Raw

Paige hasn't been seen in the WWE for well over a year, and many thought her on-screen return to the company would have happened on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, especially after photos emerged of the superstar outside the Philips Arena in Atlanta.

For the past couple of weeks, it had been reported that the British superstar was training at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando in preparation for her WWE return. She was cleared for competitive competition last month with most people speculating that she would be involved in Survivor Series in some way.

Then, when photos emerged yesterday of Paige walking into the Philips Arena, which was where Raw was last night, everybody thought she was finally returning to the show. However, she did not make an appearance.

As of writing, an official reason as to why she didn't make an appearance is yet to be confirmed, but early speculation is suggesting it may have to do with a certain photo which she posted on Instagram that is generating heat for her backstage.

As many fans know, WWE likes to keep their surprise returns a secret, so while they can't do much about fans spotting her walking into the arena, they can control what their superstars post on social media.

According to PWInsider, via Cageside Seats, this is why WWE might be upset with Paige, as she posted a picture of herself with her friend and Raw superstar Alica Fox backstage at the show last night with the caption: "This crazy girl. @thefoxxyone 😍 #Captain" referencing the fact Fox is the team captain of the Raw women's Survivor Series team.

It was rumored that Paige was going to be involved in and win the women's match on Raw between Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Mickie James on the show to decide who would be the fifth member of the Raw women's Survivor Series team.

However, after she posted this photo, WWE changed their minds and decided not to include her in the match, having Bayley come out on top instead.

Whether or not this means Paige will no longer be involved in any storyline until after Survivor Series remains to be seen. She could still be involved in some way, but if this rumor is true, it doesn't look promising for her.
