The future of Antoine Griezmann is still not clear.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the Atletico Madrid for some time now, and it looked as if he would make the move to Man United this summer.

Griezmann even rated his chances of leaving to join the 20-time English champions as '6/10'.

However, that move fell through after Atletico were banned from signing any players until 2018, and thus the Frenchman committed his services to the Spanish club at least until then.

Upon Atletico's transfer ban, Jose Mourinho then decided to switch his attention to securing the signing of Romelu Lukaku, and cooled his interest in the Frenchman.

GRIEZMANN'S BROTHER REIGNITES TRANSFER TALK

However, the forward's brother reignited rumours of a potential transfer to Manchester United in January with a post on his Twitter account a few days ago.

Theo Griezmann posted a picture of the Old Trafford stadium, accompanied by three praying emoji's.

The tweet has since been deleted and Theo Griezmann has since deleted his Twitter account, but his post excited Man United fans greatly.

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN SENDS MAN UNITED AND ARSENAL FANS CRAZY

And the French striker has now made a post on his own Twitter account that has sent not only Manchester United fans, but also Arsenal fans into a frenzy.

Although no text was involved, Griezmann posted a series of emoji's, accompanied by a picture of him shaking hands with an ecstatic Mesut Ozil, after France's 2-2 draw with Germany last night.

And fans of both Man United and Arsenal believe that this is a cryptic message that he is about to sign for their club.

Ozil's reply also raised suspicions. Again he included no text, but he did include a series of emoji's, including a winking face; implying that something may be in place involving the two.

MAN UNITED FANS REACT

Given both Mesut Ozil and Antoine Griezmann have both been heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford, Man United fans believed this tweet was a sign that both will be at the club at some point in the near future.

ARSENAL FANS REACT

But Arsenal fans also viewed this as a sign that the Frenchman will join Ozil at Arsenal.

With Arsene Wenger bidding £90 million for Thomas Lemar at the end of the summer transfer window, he clearly has the funds to sign him. And Arsenal fans couldn't contain their excitement at the prospect.

HAVE BOTH SETS OF FANS GOT IT ALL WRONG?

Of course, this is all just speculation, and both sets of fans could be getting a little bit over-excited.

And many even think that it is a sign that Mesut Ozil will join Griezmann at Atletico next year, which perhaps seems the most likely outcome.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how this story develops come January.
