It's safe to say it was a welcome return to Premier League action for Manchester United.

Well, it was in the end, with the Red Devils regrouping and recovering in some style after going 1-0 down v Newcastle at Old Trafford, winning 4-1.

Anthony Martial, Chris Smalling, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku got the goals after Dwight Gayle scored a surprise opener.

One other big talking point was the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to first team action after a prolonged absence due to a serious knee injury.

The Swede will now offer some serious competition to Lukaku, with the £75m man going through a bit of a rough patch in front of goal.

But, his goal against the Magpies was a welcome return to form and the fans absolutely loved it.

But, the one man who seemed to love it the most was the Belgian's partner in crime, Pogba, with the French midfielder really celebrating his well-taken strike.

Yeah, he's certainly happy with that one and it was a brilliant return for the former Juventus man, with Pogba proving that United are a totally different team with him in it.

He produced a sumptuous assist for Martial's equaliser and then he chipped in with a goal himself after fantastic work from Marcus Rashford.

United fans were of course in a jubilant mood after a fairly rough patch of form prior to the international break.

And they were understandably very happy with Pogba's reaction to Lukaku breaking his duck.

United have now closed the gap at the top of the table to eight points, however, with the form of their noisy neighbours Manchester City, winning the league looks very unlikely.

Pep Guardiola's side claimed their 16th consecutive victory after beating Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power and they're the overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy come May.
