Anthony Joshua has certainly had his feathers ruffled in recent weeks and as Eddie Chambers would have boxing fans believe, the British fighter has truly lost his composure.

The current face of heavyweight boxing always cuts a humble figure and one that serves his ever-growing fanbase with impeccable behaviour. He doesn't duck from fighting talk either, giving Tyson Fury a taste of his own medicine by brandishing him a 'Fat F**k' on Twitter.

And while that example, albeit expletive, is in line with the build-up to some of the biggest bouts in the fight game, reports are now circulating that Joshua took things way too far on Instagram.

In a flurry of tweets on Friday, American fighters Chambers produced a screenshot of private messages that looked to have come from Joshua.

The conversation read: "Now your tough huh champ, now your tough!?!?!?!?"

Joshua apparently replied: "Bitches talk. Real ones move in silence. You done to much talking. U are bum. Disgrace to the superior black race! F*** u!"

"Where is all this coming from I haven't talked or thought about you in years... you tryna fight!?" Chambers rebuffed.

"Or sending me DMs your the b**** talking, I been in this game, your a newbie pay homage."

Eddie Hearn sought to undermine the conversation by branding the messages 'fake' but was only hit with further evidence by Chambers, before Fury decided to rub salt in the wound by wading into the drama, too.

This isn't the first time that Joshua and Chambers have been involved in drama, though - with Joshua producing some rather salty comments less than a year into his professional career in 2014.

It looks remarkable now when you consider the American, who may not have had the most stellar career, had fought the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin in the years preceding.

In November 2014, Chambers had stated: “At the moment they’re doing a good job of making Joshua look unbeatable.

“The only problem with that is you get to a point where that’s all you’re used to. Then you get in there with somebody who can prove you’re very beatable. Then panic sets in. Then you realise you have no foundations or experience to fall back on."

Joshua answered in an interview with Behind The Gloves: "I don't respond to these clowns. I think he's just riding my wave.

"I would use the hip-hop American phrase: he's riding my d**k. He needs to get off my d**k."

Eloquently put, Anthony, and it's clear the beef has returned once again. Dependant on whether Joshua can refute or confirm the Instagram messages or not, and given his current fame, he might think Chambers is 'riding' again.
