Manchester United picked up three important points on Saturday evening as they came from behind to beat Newcastle 4-1 at Old Trafford.

The gap to Manchester City remains the same, but it was crucial that United won their match after earlier wins for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool too.

Romelu Lukaku ended his Man Utd goal drought, with Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial also impressing, however there was one star of the show.

Paul Pogba was back in Jose Mourinho's starting XI after over two months out with a hamstring injury and brilliantly set up Martial's equaliser before getting on the scoresheet himself.

The fact that he was named Man of the Match despite being taken off in the 70th-minute shows what kind of impact he had, and United fans will love what Pogba said in a post-match interview.

Man City running away with it?

For all of the criticism regarding Man United's style of play in certain games, no team has conceded less goals in the league this term and only Man City have scored more goals.

The Red Devils are Man City's nearest challengers, but not only is the gap a sizeable one, the level of football Pep Guardiola's players are currently producing is stunning.

Some of their approach play is simply exceptional, but a defiant Pogba has insisted that United can catch their neighbours and believes they can still win the title this season.

Pogba asked if Man Utd can win Premier League

Following his successful return against Newcastle, a BBC reporter asked the 24-year-old midfielder: "You (Man United) can still win the league, do you think?"

To which Pogba brilliantly responded: "Yeah, the season is very long. Of course (we can win the league). If I don't believe that, I stop playing.

"If I don't believe that we can still win the league, I better stop, I'll leave my boots and I'll stop playing football, because I'm a believer and we keep fighting."

It will be extremely difficult for United to chase down City this campaign, but Pogba's response provided a clear indication of the kind of mentality the Frenchman has.

Whether during his trophy-laden spell at Juventus or at Man Utd last season, he's used to winning things, and Mourinho's squad can learn a lot from players like him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
