Cody Rhodes and Christopher Daniels just pulled off one of the craziest spots of the year in professional wrestling.

The pair met in a Texas Death Match last night (Sat. November 18, 2017) for the Ring Of Honor (ROH) World Heavyweight Championship. For the past several months Rhodes and Daniels have been feuding with one another for the title, and it all came to a head in last night's epic one-on-one war.

When it was all said and done, "The American Nightmare" reigned supreme and retained his title after putting Daniels through a burning table. Daniels had originally set up the table and set it ablaze, as it seemed that he had the intention of putting Rhodes through it with a hurricarana.

Rhodes was able to maneuver Daniels into a powerbomb instead and put him through the burning wood. You can check out the clip, as well as both Rhodes and Daniels' reaction to the spot, here below:

It's been a very interesting ride for Cody Rhodes in his professional wrestling career. The sone of late-great WWE Hall Of Famer Dusty Rhodes, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion decided to walk out on the company back in May of last year.

Rhodes was frustrated with his creative role in the company as he was then working the Stardust gimmick. He would go on to work for various promotions on the independent circuit, recreate himself as a character, and evolved into one of the best singles talents in the business today.

Now he reigns as the World Champion of ROH and has aligned himself with The Bullet Club; which features big-name members such as The Young Bucks and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star Kenny Omega.

As he continues to progress in his career it's difficult to believe that the WWE isn't kicking themselves for misusing the rejuvenated talent to the best of their abilities when they had him.

What are your thoughts on Rhodes' insane burning table spot with Daniels for the ROH World Title? Do you think that we'll ever see him in the WWE again? And if so, will the company use him as a bigger star since he's evolved himself on the independent circuit? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
