The WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) is now in the books, and during the conclusion of the show it seems as though Kurt Angle's WrestleMania return opponent was teased.

Angle made his return to WWE last year when he was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame prior to WrestleMania 33. Soon after he was named as the General Manager of Monday Night RAW and was the new frontman of Monday nights in the professional wrestling world. While Angle's return to WWE TV was adored by fans, they still wondered when the former WWE Champion would return to action inside a WWE ring.

Those plans were sped up at last month's Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) PPV when Roman Reigns was forced out of the event days prior with an unexpected illness. As a result, Angle was thrusted into his place as he tagged alongside Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to defeat the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman and Kane.

Angle emerged victorious alongside Rollins and Ambrose in the end and looked pretty good for his first time in a WWE ring in over 11 years. He was later named captain of Team RAW for Survivor Series; where he teamed with Braun Strowman, Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe, and Triple H against SmackDown's squad of Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena.

Although Angle and team RAW emerged victorious, Angle was betrayed by his teammate Triple H when he was kicked in the gut and allowed to be eliminated by Shane McMahon - who was the sole survivor of Team SmackDown at the point in the match against Angle, Strowman, and Triple H.

For the past several months it has been rumored that Angle's opponent for WrestleMania could be Triple H (amongst other names), and with the recent actions that transpired at Survivor Series, it's looking more and more likely like that's the bout wrestling fans will see come April.

What are your thoughts on WWE teasing a match-up between Angle and Triple H at WrestleMania? Do you think that there are better options out there for Angle's return match to "The Show Of Shows?" Or is Triple H the proper option for the former Olympic Gold Medal winner? Have YOUR say in the comments section below, and the fourth episode of GiveMeSport’s WWE podcast is here!
