He won’t earn as much as he would have done if he’d fought Kell Brook or another big-name boxer before the end of the year, but Amir Khan will still make a mint from his stint on ITV’s reality show ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’.According to The Sun, Khan will pocket a cool £250,000 for spending the next three weeks with the likes of Dennis Wise, Jamie Vardy’s wife and Boris Johnson’s dad in the Australian jungle. Rather him than us.That’s 10 times as much as this year’s lowest-paid contestants will earn. It seems Khan is undoubtedly the star name on the current series. The 30-year-old divides opinion and it was no surprise that the public nominated him for the first Bushtucker Trial along with a girl from Made in Chelsea.Khan admitted that he knew nothing about ‘I’m a Celeb’ before accepting the gig, so he might be in for a bit of a shock later today.

Boxing fans are mocking Khan for comment on 'I'm a Celeb'

The Bolton-born fighter made a couple of comments during the first episode of the new series that amused boxing fans on social media, including “they don’t call me Amir ‘King’ Kahn for nothing” and “I can handle myself in a boxing ring”.

Reacting to the latter comment, The Sportsman have published a brilliant video where we see Khan knocked out by various opponents after uttering those words.

Poor old Amir. Expect to see plenty of similar tweets and videos over the coming weeks.

Khan hasn't boxed since May 2016

Khan hasn’t boxed since his defeat to Canelo Alvarez back in May 2016. That was the fourth defeat of his career following losses against Danny Garcia, Lamont Peterson and Breidis Prescott.

Khan: I'm still a boxer

"I’m still a boxer, I’m training but there’s no fights on," Khan told reporters, per the Mirror, when asked why he’s decided to enter the jungle. "So I thought, ‘I’ve got time to do this show, so why not?’

"I’m only going to be away from training and home a few weeks. I’ll use it as a detox at the same time.”
