Newcastle season ticket holders could be watching Premier League football at Championship prices next season if the club wins promotion.

The Championship leaders have announced prices will be frozen at 2009/10 levels for existing season ticket holders who renew before the end of this month.

"It's fantastic that our supporters are being given the opportunity to renew their season tickets for next season at 2009/10 prices," Manager Chris Hughton said. "Their support this season, home and away, has been absolutely phenomenal and this is due reward for that."

Despite suffering relegation from the top flight at the end of last season, the Magpies have averaged league crowds of almost 42,400 at St James' Park this season with a high of 49,644 watching the 2-0 derby victory over Middlesbrough on December 20.
