Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy could hand a debut to new signing Simon Hackney in the home clash with Grimsby.

The Colchester winger has joined on a month's loan and is in line to feature against the Mariners as the Shrimps bid to reignite their play-off hopes.

The 26-year-old has made 35 appearances for the Us since joining from Carlisle last year but has not featured since the 7-0 FA Cup defeat by Preston in January.

Defender Laurence Wilson is also available again after being ruled out for two games through suspension after picking up 10 bookings.

McIlroy has no fresh injury or suspension concerns and is not expected to make many changes to the side which lost 1-0 at Bournemouth last weekend.

On-loan winger Jamie Devitt is a doubt for Grimsby.

The Hull teenager was forced off just before half-time during the midweek defeat at Crewe with an abductor problem.

"Jamie got a slight strain at the top of his abductor, between his thigh and his stomach, and he was struggling for five or 10 minutes," said Mariners manager Neil Woods.

"He wanted to see if he could get through it but he couldn't run properly and we are going to have to assess him."

On-loan defender Olly Lancashire also remains a doubt. The Southampton centre-half sat it out on Tuesday night with a badly bruised foot and he is still struggling.
