Ronda Rousey is highly likely to join WWE at some point next year. The question is when and the answer at the moment seems very complicated.
We have heard so many reports and rumours regarding the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and what she plans to do next.
Movies for now are the way to increase her brand and wallet, with Mile 22 alongside star Mark Wahlberg the latest film she will be starring in as shooting gets underway shortly.
But when that wraps up what’s next for the former face of the UFC? WWE has long been rumoured as her destination but one latest report has highlighted how far off that remains.
Whilst in the last weeks and months it’s been reported that Rousey and WWE are in talks for her to move across to the wrestling industry, TMZ have now stated that discussions haven’t even started.
That’s certainly far off some of the rumours which spoke about Rousey’s negotiations with the WWE as if they were a formality.
“Multiple independent sources from all sides of the deal have told us contract talks have NOT gotten off the ground. As one source bluntly put it, '[Ronda's team] hasn't begun any negotiations with the WWE'.
“Doesn't mean they won't hit the negotiation table in the future ... but as far as what's cookin' right now -- no deal.”
But in reality whilst this report makes Rousey working for WWE seem far off, all signs are pointing to her coming to terms with Vince McMahon and co at some point.
WWE’s major event of the year, WrestleMania 34, is in April next year, leaving plenty of time for one of her rumoured matches for the event to come to fruition.
There are many different scenarios for Rousey if and when the deal is concluded. The latest angle involved Rousey celebrating with Shayna Baszler and team-mates Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir following Baszler’s second-round win in the Mae Young Classic tournament. Baszler has recently signed with WWE, with NXT her next destination.
It’s also been reported on previous occasions that Rousey could have a singles match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next year on Sunday April 8, 2018. Her possible opponents for that could be either Stephanie McMahon or Charlotte Flair.
It remains to be seen what transpires but what do you think WWE fans? Who should Rousey face if and when she lands in WWE? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below this article.
