Paris Saint-Germain retained their nine-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 with a 3-1 victory over Caen on Wednesday night.Monaco couldn't cut the gap despite beating Rennes 2-1, as Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe, and Yuri Berchiche all combined to ensure Unai Emery's men cruised to another three points. While he didn't get himself on the scoresheet, Neymar looked dangerous throughout and bagged his 12th assist of the season in all competitions by setting up Mbappe's goal.Later, the Brazilian would go onto hit the post, but perhaps that just sums up that the night belonged to his teenage team-mate.On the day the French international turned 19, Mbappe earned Man of the Match with his display, with one moment in particular epitomising his brilliance.Picking up the ball in space, two Caen players attempted to close him down before he blitzed past both of them.Having carved out more space down the right, he powered forward demonstrating his outstanding pace, finishing it all off by directing a pinpoint pass into the feet on Cavani. The Uruguayan found the back of the net with a nifty backheel - outrageous. Fans were raving about Mbappe

It's fair to say Cavani deserved plaudits too, but it was Mbappe who everyone was talking about.

With his more experienced team-mates, you know exactly what you're getting, even if Neymar is still planning to improve and win a Ballon d'Or.

Mbappe's age makes his potential absolutely frightening - and who knows what he can achieve if he continues on his current trajectory.

The only disappointment when he chose to leave Monaco was that he didn't opt to test himself in another league, but there still aren't many players around who would make Ligue 1 look as easy as he does.

It looks like 2018 could be another massive year for him at the Parc des Princes.

Will Mbappe win a Ballon d'Or in his career? Have your say in the comments.
