After a number of lopsided performances, the Oklahoma City Thunder finally put together a dominant display as they thumped the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. The 107-79 rout was one of few occasions this season where All-Star trio Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony worked well together on the court and it showed just how prolific they can be when that happens. Westbrook posted 24 points and 10 rebounds and PG and Melo added 18 each in a resounding victory that has been a long time coming. After a number of close wins over the past week, the Thunder finally blew this game wide open and never looked back as they took an 87-60 lead in the third quarter. The OKC threesome have struggled to adjust to one another throughout the campaign but they are a formidable proposition when they click. George, in particular, has been a little passive this year and is still trying to find his perfect role with the team. Against Utah, however, he let loose and showed what he's all about as he produced the highlight moment of the game. During his seven years with the Indiana Pacers, the four-time All-Star regularly enjoyed standout plays but they have been few and far between in Oklahoma City. The small forward managed to beat Rodney Hood with a slick crossover move and finished the play by exploding to the rim and powering a thunderous dunk over big man Derrick Favors that got the bench on their feet.

It was Favors's first game back after suffering an eye injury and concussion and he must've wished he stayed out a little longer after being on the receiving end of this monster jam.

George's teammates certainly enjoyed the move and Westbrook insisted it's something he'd been waiting for all season.

"About time," he said, per ESPN. "It's about time. I told him he hadn't dunked on anybody in a long time. It's about time he did something."

The reaction of the team was in keeping with their play on the court as they seemed to be having fun together, something that has been lacking for several weeks.

"That's the most important part," Westbrook said. "You've got to have fun and embrace the game. You don't take it for granted. Go out and compete and have fun at the same time. It's enjoyable. You have to enjoy it."

The MVP will hope that they can continue in this vein and discover a consistency that allows them to compete with the top teams in the west as they clearly have the talent to do so.
