The January transfer window is just a week away and the transfer rumours are starting to increase in number rapidly.

Historically, not as many deals occur in January than in the summer, but a host of English clubs will all be undoubtedly looking to add some quality to their squads next month.

Although Manchester City look set to run away with the Premier League title, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal will all be active in the market as they fight for a spot in the top four.

However, there will not just be in-comings.

Arsene Wenger will be looking to resolve the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, whereas the futures of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw at Man United also remain unclear.

With so many big names reportedly unsettled at their clubs, the January transfer window has the potential to be an extremely exciting one.

With the January transfer window set to open next week, The Mirror report that Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are all targeting a move for Leverkusen's Leon Bailey.

Although all three are keen on securing the services of the Jamaican, it is believed that Arsenal have emerged as front runners for his signature, with Arsene Wenger readying a bid of £30m.

Having lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool last summer and with uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, Wenger will be keen to add the 20-year-old to his attacking options.

WHO IS LEON BAILEY?

The Jamaican has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years, and now at 20-years-old, he has been billed as a star of the future.

The winger only made his professional debut in 2015 whilst at Belgian club Genk, and he impressed immensely enough during his two season spell at the club.

It was reported that Manchester United and Chelsea were both interested in signing him last summer, but he eventually joined Leverkusen in a deal worth €20 million.

And he has continued his development in Germany, having scored eight goals in sixteen games for Leverkusen this season.

Although he still has five years on his contract after moving to Germany last summer, it is believed a £30 million offer will be enough to force his current employers to let him leave.
