The Golden State Warriors once again got the better of the Cleveland Cavaliers as they met for the first time since the NBA Finals on Christmas Day.

In an intense playoff-like encounter at Oracle Arena, the Dubs secured a 99-92 win as they managed to close the game out with some huge defensive plays down the stretch.

The game swung back and forth and remained close for most of the night but the Cavs shot poorly all night and even though they stayed in the contest, their struggles caught up with them in the end as they failed to make baskets in the crucial stage.

As usual, Draymond Green proved to be key for the Warriors and had his fingerprints all over the win with a triple-double of 12 points, 11 assists, and 12 rebounds.

The Defensive Player of the Year was once again dominant on that end of the floor as he enjoyed a number of steals and blocks, particularly two outstanding rejections on Tristan Thompson and LeBron James.

The triple-double was Green's first of the season and came in their biggest game of the year so far.

With the impressive stat line, the All-Star joined a select group of players as he became just the sixth man to achieve this feat on Christmas Day.

He's placed himself alongside some elite company with Oscar Robertson, John Havlicek, Billy Cunningham, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook as the only players to put up these numbers on the league's traditional regular season slate.

It's also the power forward's 20th career triple-double, tying Tom Gola for the most in franchise history. The Dubs are also undefeated whenever their Swiss Army Knife posts such a line as they're now 20-0.

With Stephen Curry out with an ankle injury, Draymond took it upon himself to become the team's facilitator and expertly ran the offense for the Warriors.

With his unique skill set, he's able to step up and take on any role the defending champions need from him on either end of the floor and showed this once again against the Cavs.

Green has had much success in his career in the regular season against the Cavaliers prior to Monday’s matchup averaging 12.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 10 games.

It was also just his second game back from a shoulder injury but showed no effects as he did what he does best and inspired the Warriors with his all-around game.
