What Arsenal fans were all saying about Alexis Sanchez during 3-2 win v Crystal Palace

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 3-2 on Thursday night to close the gap on Tottenham and Liverpool above them in the table.

Alexis Sanchez was magnificent, scoring two second half goals to help Arsene Wenger's side to an important victory.

German defender Shkodran Mustafi had initially given the Gunners the lead before Andros Townsend equalised for the hosts.

Sanchez has been heavily criticised by his own fans following a string of poor performances - but they weren't criticising him on Thursday night.

The Chilean forward produced two excellent finishes to remind Arsenal fans just how important he is to their team.

Sanchez has only six months remaining on his current deal in north London and - having attempted to join Manchester City over the summer - looks unlikely to be an Arsenal player next season.

Incredibly, Mesut Ozil will also be available to leave on a free transfer at the end of the 2017/18 season.

What Arsenal fans were saying about Sanchez

Crystal Palace v Arsenal - Premier League

Formerly a fan favourite at the Emirates, Arsenal fans on Twitter thought they knew why he was playing so well against Crystal Palace.

The January transfer window opens very soon and the 29-year-old could potentially be sold by Wenger at a cut-price.

Tons of Arsenal fans were making the same point about Sanchez rediscovering his form.

A coincidence indeed.

Speaking to reporters, Wenger insisted that the Gunners have not received an approach for their star man.

"We have not been approached by anyone. Other than that I stand by what I have said before,” said Wenger earlier this week, when asked about a potential Sanchez departure next month.

“In the transfer window I will be busy.

"Clubs will contact us to buy and loan players and I will be open to any possibilities to strengthen our team.”
