Mariners extend Devitt loan stay

Grimsby are set to extend the loan spell of Hull midfielder Jamie Devitt until the end of the season.

Devitt has impressed during his time with the Mariners, scoring three goals in seven games.

Town boss Neil Woods told the club's official website: "Jamie wants to stay, he's happy to stay with us. We've agreed in principle with Hull and it looks like it is happening."

He added: "We've added quality players to the team and Jamie is one of those."

The League Two club expect Devitt's deal to be extended on Wednesday, ahead of the following day's loan deadline.
